Reset explained: the martial arts recovery formula.
The martial arts recovery formula: an amino drink and a recovery blend in one scoop. Essential aminos for the muscle, then collagen, tart cherry, curcumin and magnesium for joints, soreness and sleep.
Reset is the martial arts recovery formula: two things in one scoop. An essential amino acid drink for the muscle you just trained, and a recovery blend for everything a protein shake does not cover: joints and tendons, next-day soreness, bruising, sleep, and the vitamins and minerals hard training burns through. It was built for people who train twice a day and cannot afford to be sore tomorrow. This is what is in it and why.
- Eleven actives, every dose on the label. Essential amino acids, collagen, tart cherry, curcumin, bromelain, boswellia, ginger, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C and vitamin D3.
- 10g of essential amino acids with 3g of leucine: the amino drink half. Free-form, so they are absorbed in minutes.
- No whey or protein powder in it, so it still stacks with the shake you already use.
- Take it within the hour after training, or before bed after an evening session.
- Nothing on the WADA Prohibited List.
- One scoop in 300 to 400ml of water or milk. Black Cherry.
Why an amino drink and not a protein shake?
Because you already have protein. Almost everyone who trains hard has a whey or plant shake and a diet that covers it. A "recovery" powder that is 20g of whey plus a sprinkle of everything else is a protein shake with a different label and a higher price. Reset does the opposite. The amino half is 10g of free-form essential amino acids, the nine your body cannot make, with 3g of leucine, which is the amount that switches muscle protein synthesis on. They need no digestion, so they are in the blood within minutes of the session ending, and they mix into water rather than sitting in your stomach before an evening spar. The rest of the scoop goes on the things a shake never does: connective tissue, soreness, sleep and micronutrients.
What is in Reset?
| Ingredient | Dose | What it is there for |
|---|---|---|
| Essential amino acids | 10,000mg | All nine EAAs, free-form, with 3,000mg leucine. The amino drink half: fast muscle recovery, nothing to digest. |
| Collagen peptides | 10,000mg | Hydrolysed bovine type I and III. The structural protein in tendons, ligaments and cartilage. |
| Curcumin phytosome | 500mg | Meriva-grade curcumin bound to phospholipids so it is absorbed. Plain turmeric powder is not. |
| Bromelain | 500mg | Pineapple enzyme at 2,400 GDU/g activity. Used around contact sport for decades. |
| Tart cherry extract | 480mg | Montmorency, 50:1 standardised. The best-studied botanical for next-day soreness and sleep. |
| Boswellia serrata | 250mg | 65% boswellic acids. Joint comfort. |
| Ginger root extract | 250mg | 5% gingerols. Muscle soreness. |
| Magnesium bisglycinate | 200mg (53% NRV) | Normal muscle function, reduction of tiredness and fatigue. The form that does not upset your stomach. |
| Vitamin C | 200mg (250% NRV) | Normal collagen formation for cartilage and bones. Immune function during and after intense exercise. |
| Zinc | 10mg (100% NRV) | Normal protein synthesis and immune function. |
| Vitamin D3 | 25µg (500% NRV) | Normal muscle function, bones and immune system. Most UK athletes are low. |
What does each part of Reset do?
10g of essential amino acids with 3g of leucine, taken within the hour, gives the muscle you just trained the building blocks straight away. It is the same job a whey shake does, minus the digestion and the bulk, which matters when the next session is six hours away.
10g of hydrolysed collagen with 200mg of vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones. Knees, elbows, wrists and the neck take a beating in combat sport and this is the raw material they are built from.
Tart cherry, a bioavailable curcumin and ginger extract. These are the three botanicals with the strongest research behind them for how sore you feel the day after a hard session.
500mg of bromelain, the pineapple enzyme that has been used around contact sport for decades.
200mg of magnesium bisglycinate contributes to normal muscle function and the reduction of tiredness. Tart cherry is a natural source of melatonin. Both do their best work overnight.
Zinc, vitamin D3 and vitamin C contribute to the normal function of the immune system, including during and after intense exercise. Getting ill in week six is how camps get lost.
Ten grams of essential aminos and ten grams of collagen per scoop. Both at the doses the research used, not the 2g sprinkle you find in most recovery blends. Collagen is paired with vitamin C because that is how collagen is made.
When should I take Reset?
One scoop in 300 to 400ml of water or milk after training. Cherry flavour, mixes clean.
Evening session? Take it before sleep instead. Magnesium and tart cherry do their best work overnight.
Reset has no whey or protein powder in it. On a heavy training day take it alongside your shake; on a lighter day the aminos can stand in for it.
Recovery ingredients build over weeks. Rest days included.
Curcumin is yellow and will tint your shaker. Rinse it straight away. And if you take blood-thinning medication, talk to your GP before using anything with bromelain or curcumin in it.
Train twice. Wake up ready. The martial arts recovery formula.
Is Reset only for fighters?
No. It was designed around the demands of combat sport, but anyone who trains hard, has sore joints, or wakes up stiff will get the same use from it. Runners and lifters over thirty are the biggest group after fighters.
Can I take Reset and Flow State on the same day?
Yes, that is the intended stack. Flow State before the session, Reset after it or before bed. There is no overlap between the two ingredient lists.
Do I still need a protein shake?
Most days, yes, if you are chasing muscle. The aminos in Reset cover the immediate post-session window; a shake or a meal covers the rest of the day. On rest days or after a light technical session, Reset on its own is enough.
Is the collagen halal?
The collagen is bovine. The source status is printed on the tub and on the product page for the batch you are buying.
Flow State before. Reset after.
A stim-free pre and the martial arts recovery formula, built for people who train every day and get tested. Full doses, every one on the label, nothing from the WADA Prohibited List.
